H2H Inspiration

Hello!

I would like to thank Mary for the warm invitation to be a guest DT member this month at H2H-I have loved being a part of it and it made me make sure that I played each week! (smile) I often intend to, but then poof, the week is done! I really need to remember that I can play for the whole month, so can go back and complete the missed challenges!

I would also like to thank the DT team for the the warm welcome and kind comments! I just love seeing what every member created with the same "inspiration" start. What a talented team to be a part of!

Here is the fabulous inspiration photo:

The striped curtains, colour palette and the cool star/flower mirror were what inspired me. I really wanted to use one of my background stamps as well- the card was feeling more stark than I wanted it to.

CTMH supplies: AP cartridge to cut out the flower (there are 3 stacked); crystal blue ink misted on with pearl paint; clear opaques; sentiment from"4 my friend"; background stamp (will fill you in on which set it came from); desert sand ink; archival black ink; twine; designer brad; kraft paper.

I am pleased with the over- all effect of it.

Hello!

Another scrummy set of colours for My Time Made Easy's Pretty Palette this week:

The colour palette was inspired by MTME's digital papers called Taylor's Teeth Nomad's Tea Leaf. I used papers from this collection to make my card today. I also used the sentiment from MTME's "Sentimental Occasions Labels" and the sentiment from "Bee-Loved".

As simple a card as this is, I had a lot of difficulty as I was using files from our old laptop and it refused to cooperate with the printer. There was a lot of "pfeffing about" as i saved the file to print from the Mac. Grrr.

"Use It Or Lose It" Inspiration

This week "Use it or Lose it" has an inspiration photo:

Remember, the idea is to use what you have in your CTMH (and other) stash:

I have used some retired (lime?) CTMH textured c/s. The colour (whatever it is) was retired a couple of years ago. The rid arc I have had for years from an unknown source! The stems and flowers were cut from the CTMH AP cartridge; the lettering is the bohemian alphabet; the flowers are stamped from a stamp set that comes with the AP cartridge; I also used a background stamp on the flowers with clear EP before stamping the flowers in lagoon ink. The background was embossed with an SU! embossing folder.

Pull out your stash and see what you can come up with! I used the colours for my inspiration, but maybe there are design elements that inspire you!

A Little Thank-you Box

Hi there!

Just popping in for a quick one to share a little gift box made with the CTMH AP cricut cartridge:

Everything is CTMH: Pemberly paper; AP cart for the box and the label and the tiny butterfly; new colourable seam binding (coloured with creme brûlée); adhesive mocha pearls; pretty pin (I think that the name is different than that though); and the stamp is from the 4 my friends stamp set. I also used a background stamp on the butterfly using outdoor denim ink.

Hi there,

It is time for a sketch a H2H this week: I made a grungy one as I do not make many masculine ones.

I really like the CTMH Victory papers, especially the camo paper. All supplies used are CTMH: Victory papers; barn red c/s; striped grosgrain ribbon; barn red and midnight denim inks; the tickets and star stamps are from the stamp set included exclusively in the Victory Workshop on the Go; twill ribbon; square durables; the splatters are from diverse backgrounds.

Hello again!

The colours for My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette are soft this week:

They are inspired by the MTME papers called "Romance". I used the leaf paper from this collection to create my card this week:

I cut one of the leaf images out and mounted them on pop dots. A bit of yellow baker's twine (it is hard to see the colour) brings in the yellow of this palette). I used the sentiment from the MTME "So Sentimental" acrylic set.

I would love to welcome Mary Vogel to the MTME Pretty Palette design team! Some of you may know Mary from the H2H Challenges as she is owner of that blog. So cool to work with her at MTME as well!

"Quickie" Class Valentine Cards

Hello! Here is another challenge for H2H this month: 1,2,3 challenge - Use 1 stamp, 2 different patterned papers and 3 embellishments (these can all be the same or can be 3 different embellishments). Now I used 3 different ones, although a couple are multiples.

A Little Birdy...

Hello!

This lovely colour combo for My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette is inspired by the MTME digi paper "minty chocolate". How yummy does that sound?

I was really dying to use something from one of the new MTME releases and was so thrilled that one of the papers from the "Wind Your Girly Gears" digi paper collection fit the bill! I took this fun mechanical bird from the "Wind them Up" digi stamp set and coloured it. The blue seemed to match the aqua-until I printed it. * sigh* I figure that it is close enough! LOVE the real shade of the aqua and I had ribbon that matched it exactly!

Woot! I used one of my new stamps that I had won from Paper and Such that talented Canadian, Angela Fehr designed. I hope to show you a few more as I make the valentines for my girls using this same, cute set!

I used the sketch from CPS and turned it:

and created this valentine for Warrior:

Not very traditional, hey?

I used new papers from CTMH "Victory". I cut out the frame using the CTMH AP cartridge. The corner is stapled, but it is not showing. The star paper down the centre is the "zip strip" that all dp from CTMH has that you can trim off and use as an accent. I have embossed the stamped portion with clear embossing powder and used one of the new CTMH square adhesive studs in the corner. The button is also CTMH from the neutral pack.

V- vintage ( well, I think this paper looks vintage and I find that Unity often has a vintage look!)

H2H Valentine Challenge

Hello! I am a bit late posting as our Internet continues to be unreliable. I already lost 2 posts from it kicking out during the writing of them before they even saved! For now, I may have to post when I can after work!

I am a guest DT member for the month of February at H2H! So excited! The challenge this week at H2H is to create something for the one that you love.

Here is a sweet little pocket that I created using the CTMH AP cartridge:

This came together really quickly! I used the AP cartridge to cut out the pocket (Roxy dp) and the heart (smoothie c/s). I stamped the heart with versamark and white embossing powder using a stamp from December's SOTM. The ribbon (and yes, that sweet rose is from ribbon!) is from the pink collection; the red button is from the red button collection; jewelled brad and a few gems from the clear opaques. Everything is from Close to My Heart! Easy-peasy!

I hope that you will pull out your Close to my Heart products and play along at H2H!

All product used is from CTMH: Roxy (which is still available in the spring/summer 2012 Idea Book), AP cricut cartridge (which is now $99, with 3 stamp sets and 3 sets of Dimensional Elements that all work with the shapes on the cartridge!); and the "Just for You" stamp set. Inks used: smoothie, gold rush, pear, tulip, lagoon. It was still drying, but in the centre I used stardust glitter gel for some sparkle. The dotted paper is retired paper from "You and Me".

Happiness...MTME Pretty Palette 45

Hello!

This one was so close to not happening, with the spotty Internet, then our wireless printer was refusing to be acknowledged by the Mac; low ink and double printing on my image when feeding it through the printer again!

This lovely palette for My Time Made Easy's Pretty Palette Challenge this week is inspired by My Time Made Easy's Plum Pretties digital paper:

And who do I see here? My favourite sweet girl from MTME "So Fortunate" digi stamp set. That beautiful background was not created by me, but is one of the papers! I sized it down to card size, added some pearls to the flowers (which really is not showing well, it is snowing here); coloured and printed the sweet girl and the happiness sentiment. The same image is underneath the happiness sentiment, but without the word happiness. I reprinted it to make it the stand-out sentiment.

Roxy Altered Notebook

Hello,

Our spotty Internet service is our actual server; at least we will not have to replace the router, but it sure kicks out at inconvenient times! (Scroll down a couple of pictures in this post for the JUGS entry).

I had to create a quick little add-on gift for a birthday girl, as I did not get into the "city" as planned. An appointment I had there was rescheduled until next week, so I was unable to shop.

I put together this composition book with the initial of the birthday girl on it:

What I forgot to show (and the gift has been given), is that I also stamped a winged heart on the tag that is inside the green journalling pocket.

CTMH: Roxy dp and Wings (retired) dp; smoothie ink; irresistibles; clear detail embossing powder; decor journaling spots; delightful alphabet stamp. The gorgeous flourish is Zva.

Kraft Journal "Tie it Up" and H2H Inspiration

Our Internet has continued to be somewhat patchy these days; I cannot help but wonder if our router may need replacing...

Today I have a card inspired by H2H's inspiration photo:

Note the branch and leaves; clear tag and tag shapes and the lined paper behind the leaves....

At The Kraft Journal, you are to tie something on!

Everything shown is CTMH, except the MS twine (starting February 1, CTMH has twine in the new idea book!) and Kraft Outlet kraft paper.

The card is cut with the exclusive CTMH AP cricut cartridge; the dp (behind the leaves and on the tag shapes along the side) are from the retired "You and Me" papers. The clear tag is an old CTMH package of clear embellishments, which I embossed with a dot folder from SU! I have also stamped "love life"(from CTMH's "Fill in the Blank" stamp set) on the tag with brown versa mark ink, but it does not show well.

H2H ink up...and CASE

The challenge at Heart 2 Heart challenges this week is to ink up a stamp you have not used or to ink one up that you have not used in a while.

There are lots that I have not inked up yet, particularly the ones that came with my Art Philosophy cricut cartridge. Did you know that 3 stamp sets and 3 sets of chipboard elements come with this exclusive CTMH cartridge-all co-ordinating with the cuts?

I made these 2 cards using the AP cartridge (the whole card is cut out from it) and one of the stamp sets that came with it:

There are a couple of angles so that you can see that it is stamped on the inside and viewed from the outside (I am sure that there is some sort of technical term for that).

CTMH product: I used lagoon and pear inks on this one. The gorgeous bling-y brad on the flower is available in the current CTMH Idea Book as are the clear opaque jewels. (flower is prima, twine is the twinery).

CTMH products: I used blush and tulip inks. The pins and ric-rac are retired CTMH. The clear gems are in the current CTMH idea book. (embossing folder is from SU!)

CASE study #73 is showcasing negative die-cutting. I think that this fits in....

Altered Dreams Composition Book

I did not get a post out all week, so I ma giving you 2 in one day.

I have a friend that would like to write a memoir of her grandma. She has lots of ideas floating about, but does not know where she wants to start. I made her this book so that she can at start the process by jotting some of the thoughts down.

I am so pleased with how it turned out!

Everything is CTMH (with the exception of the SU ribbon, the gluber to create the flower, and the leaves from my stash). I combined 2 paper packs: "You and Me" (not available) and "Roxy" (current). The stamp set and chipboard banner are also from the "You and Me" kit. The button, pompom trim and pearls are all still available from CTMH. The circle was cut using the exclusive CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge.

My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette #42

Good morning!

The colours in this My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette Challenge are based upon the MTME digi paper "Island Love" released today! Such yummy, summery colours.

I created this bag for a friend that is celebrating a birthday. I used a digital stamp from MTME's "All Aflutter". I blew it up large (that is one of the benefits of digital stamps-resizing!) and then printed in on the digital paper, adding some glitter for some bling. I had some ribbon that was just the same colour as the light blue and was going to add it to the paper ruffle, but is somehow did not look the way that I thought it would, so I abandoned the idea and stayed more on the simple side.

I need to work on how to photograph my projects. I cropped it close as I could not seem to block out the surrounding area. Any links to tips would be appreciated! I feel like I have to photograph dead on, and I see some that are not and they still look good...how do you do that?

Before I had seen the graphic, I knew that I wanted to use papers from My Time made Easy's Pop Some Fun digi paper. Warrior had a birthday party that he was going to go to and I had picked up movie passes. He came down with the flu the day of the party, so did not go. This gave me the time to make this cute little box using My Time Made Easy's digi paper and use the sentiment from MTME's Night at the Movies digi stamp set. The purple was a puzzler for me until I decided to use purple twine to tie (literally) it all together!

We are bidding a sad farewell to Lynn Magnan, I have loved working with Lynn and am inspired by her CAS style. I will certainly continue to follow her on her blog!

I have a couple more cards for the H2H virtual Holiday card exchange:

All CTMH: wonderland paper, daisy white c/s, Christmas Love ss, red glitter gel, cranberry pleated ribbon, english ivy ink.

This has the same, except the inks are twilight and cranberry and silver glitter gel instead of red (the dots). I actually had to repair an error. I had stamped above the ribbon, but it smeared, so I cut another piece of paper to cover. I would have started again, but the ribbon was already glued on.

I may be 4 days late, but I am not saying....

Happy Birthday to my little sister, Leanne!

The flower on this card is inside a very kind friend that owns the LSS, generously gave me some fiskar punch anywhere punches- 4 of them! I used the 2" scalloped circle punch and cut a rosette piece from the gorgeous CTMH pink collection ribbon. I also used pom pom trim from the same collection and glued it around the outside. The stem is cut from the CTMH AP cricut cartridge. Pop in a little CTMH bling button tied with a piece of pink twine; a tiny tag stamped in blue and tied with pink twine and you are done!

Gingerbread!

I love gingerbread. Once we had children, it became a staple for our family. My Time Made Easy's "the Gingersnaps" are darling. The acrylic version has them small enough, that multiple gingers can be used on a card or tag.

This week's My Time Made Easy Pretty Pattern Challenge 40 is this:

I decided to use brown/kraft as my "choice" colours, as they are the colour of gingerbread. I went traditional and lined the icing marks with white gel pen.

These are the "baby" gingerbreads from MTME's "The Gingersnaps". The tag is 3 1/2", to give you an idea of their size.

Card Packet

It can be difficult to shop for the elderly in your family. They often "have all they need" as they put it. Mylove's godmother is in her 80's and does not live near us, but still we want to send her a little something. She likes to have candy for visitors, so we send her something that way, along with a gift card for a restaurant that she enjoys going to. Last year, I decided to send her and my grandma a collection of cards to have on-hand along with stamps. They really enjoyed receiving them.

I have stamped them on CTMH die-cut cards. It is hard to see the bracket cut at the edge, but it is there. Such a pretty detail that you do not have do! I tried to keep them flat, as if you have tried to mail cards with buttons or too much "pop-up" details they are extra cost to mail.

Here is the collection I made so far (one more in my head to be stamped on paper yet):

Cold Winter, Warm Heart

Welcome to My Time Made Easy's second last pretty palette challenge for 2011!

This colour combo is soooo pretty:

An unlikely combo (for me) to use for winter. I really wanted to use MTME's Winter Knits digi stamp set again. The hats are so darling!

I used my new embossing folder and am in love with the dimension it added to the card! The hat and the sentiment (from MTME's warm sentiments) are digitally coloured. I know that blue is not part of the palette, but "cold winter" positively screamed for BLUE!

Looking for ideas for using CTMH's Art Philosophy cricut cartridge? I am loving it! you can start here with Lisa Stenz, our fabulous hostess who started it! Thank-you, Lisa! If you click on Lisa's high-lighted name, it will take you to the post that has all the pictures of the blogs sharing ideas! You will see Lisa's project, then scroll down for more from many others!

I have a couple of projects that I whipped together using CTMH's Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge and coordinating stamps.

The first are some tags that I layered and stamped for a bake sale (these did not use a co-ordinating stamp set- the set used is "A Sip").

This second set I cut and stamped in an hour! I used typeset paper. There is an alphabet strip going around it that is the "zip strip" from the edge of the paper that can be used as borders or accents.
I cut out 22 "french fry" boxes. Two will fit on a 12x12 sheet at 8 3/4".
I also cut out 22 tags and 22 stocking shapes. The stockings are from "Holiday Magic" which was a special offered during November. The tag stamps are from "December 25th".
I accented with some silver glitz glue on the tags and the stardust glitter glue on the angel's wings. The actual gluing together of the boxes took me about 45 minutes, but that was because I decided to score the folds before folding and gluing. That was my choice! I used juniper and vineyard berry inks as they match colours in the typeset paper.

I made these for my little class and will put in a packet of hot chocolate and a candy cane for Christmas.

Quick and Easy Christmas cards

Hi there!

I was able to quickly put together 10 little cards for my customers using CTMH's Art Philosophy cricut Cartridge! I am soooo loving it!

I cut the whole card (yes, the whole card!) out first; then the wonderland paper, twilight c/s and colonial white c/s. These are small cards, they are 3x3.

The stamp set is from last year's Mistletoe workshop on the go kit. The ornaments were small enough to use on these by the time I had matted it. I used a few different inks for the ornaments, pulled from the paper. (twilight, spring iris, crystal blue and grey wool). A bit of silver pearl embossing powder, a mocha pearl and a bit of ribbon-done!

Did you see My Time Made Easy's December release? I just fell in love with the Winter Knits stamp set. The hats are just too ca-ute! There is also digi paper with these adorable hats on them!The paper did not go with this week's colour challenge and I am not savvy enough to do colour changes, although I know they can be done!Here is our inspiration for this week's Pretty Palette challenge:

My images are all digital and printed right on the card this week. Woot for me! My yellow did not turn out as pretty as the inspiration yellow, it did not look as green on my screen as what it printed.For my card, I used MTME digi stamp from Winter Knits and digi sentiment stamp from the MTME Warm Sentiments digi stamp set. This sentiment set is soooo perfect if you or someone you care for is a knitter. Love this one as well!

Life is Good swing card

My CTMH group is meeting this weekend and the hostess asked if we could make swing cards. She gave me the link to SCS , which I followed in order to create this. SCS really is THE place to find tutorials or instructions for techniques!I was going to make a Christmas themed one, but I also needed to create a card for a dear friend who complete her Masters in education. One thing that I forgot that I was a going to take into account was how the stamped words on the left were to be hidden when the card is closed. I stamped it and realized that the edge shows. Urgh.

I used an embossing template and stamped it with CTMH's remarkable wreath stamp set.I also used retired CTMH colour ready kraft trim which I inked up in twilight.

I made these little banners for the last order that my CTMH club group put in. The triangles are from CTMH's October stamp of the month. The letters are cut from my CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cartridge using CTMH winter wonderland paper.

It is hard to see, but I have used CTMH's red glitter glue dots on the letters; a jewelled button as a dot on the J; a couple of sparkles near the point of the banner. I used twilight ink, cranberry ribbon and tulip c/s.

The Gingersnaps

Gee, a week passed by so quickly! It is already time for My Time Made Easy's Pretty Palette Challenge:

Today on my card, I once again used the adorable My Time Made Easy's "The Gingersnap's". I have the acrylic version and stamped it with desert sand ink and used a white gel pen to enhance the icing. It is hard to see in the picture, but the girl's but ins and the man's bow are stamped in olive ink. I used clear gems for the eyes (although they look almost like they are googly in the picture) and around the edge are mocha coloured pearls on the flower cut-outs. I tied a stick pin with hemp string and cream and green ribbons.

I made this little card for a friend whose dd has not been well for the past year. It is a note of encouragement.

The sweet little matroyshkas are from My Cute stamps. The wee tag and sentiment are SU! CTMH products: kraft paper; elemental paper, mocha pearls, bling buttons. I used the CTMH AP cricut cartridge to cut out the card shape and the ovals to layer. Ink colours used: blush, lagoon, tulip.

I cannot remember where i got the letters from, I have had them for so long.

I cut the stars in layers using my CTMH AP Cricut cartridge. Other CTMH product used: colonial white, vineyard berry, kraft and typeset papers; metal pick.

I also used a die cut from MFT and twine from SU!

Embellish Die Cuts Color trends Challenge

Embellish is looking for die-cuts.

I used a Sizzix frame on the actual card as a window. I also used a part of it to frame from the inside as well. The butterflies are also a Sizzix die.

The stamp set is from Avocado Arts called "My wish for you". A portion of the sales from this set goes to an organization that they support. It was for the Susan G. Komen foundation when I purchased it.

CTMH products used: Bliss, colonial white and desert sand papers. Inks: petal and olive. Extras: Bitty sparkles, mocha pearls, glitter gel.

Boo! with Chocolate Halloween

Boo! This week's colour inspiration comes from My Time Made Easy's Chocolate Halloween digital paper (and yes, the dotted paper is from this collection!)

I decided that a violet ghost would be pretty; do they always have to be white?

The sweet little ghost is an individual MTME digi stamp called "Boo". MTME also has other cute individual Halloween digi stamps as well!

I added some pearls, jewels and lace for some girly-ness.

Elemental Fall Thank-you

Hello! I have been having a horrendous time with a CTMH order coming via Canada Post. Let me put it this way: the order was put in Sept. 22 and shipped the 23rd. I am still waiting. It has been bounced from Richmond, to Mississauga to Edmonton (to supposedly Richmond) and now Mississauga!!! I am stomping mad and can get no satisfactory answers from Canada Post. The most recent ETA is October 27. Are you kidding me?!

So, I am giving my very patient and forgiving customers a set of cards, a little box made with the CTMH Art Philosophy cricut cart and a mini stamp set with block.

Here is a sample of the cards made with the CTMH Elemental papers AP cart (cutting out the cards, the leaves, and the tabs that have thank-you stamped on it).

I have also used a new jewelled button as an accent for one.

Here is a sample of one of the boxes that will hold the stamp set:

The flag and box are cut out using the AP cricut cartridge. Again, there is one of the jewelled buttons. The belly band around it is actually the trim from the CTMH Winter Wonderland papers.

Thank goodness we have not seen any flakes here yet! We have had a very warm fall this year. I guess it had to make up for the summer we never had.

This week's My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette inspiration is this:

For my card, I used the free My Time Made Easy digi papers called Snowflakes. I did all of the card digitally, printed it out and then added the snowflake from my stash. First time ever to do it all digitally without cutting it out!I also used MTME's digi snowflake and sentiment stamps from Dashing Through the Snow. I added some glitter glue for shimmer. I wanted the snowflake in the centre to be larger, but for some reason, I had difficulty in making it larger.

Fry Box

Finally, my CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge arrived last week! I ordered it back at the end of August. For some reason, Canada Post did not send it to me, but returned it before it ever got to my town. They also did the same thing with an order that was to be for a charity auction this past weekend. Needless to say, there was nothing of mine to auction as once again, CP returned the order before it ever made it to my town. Frustration is an understatement.

Anyhoo, I have just played with it a wee bit with having company over the weekend for Thanksgiving.

Tonight, I have a CTMH gathering and I put together this little fry box using the cartridge and the stamp sets that come with it:

I used bulk Wonderland papers, twilight and petal inks all by CTMH. Don't you love the sweet jewelled button? It is also in the new idea book.

Inside are a couple more tickets that I stamped, a mini fry box and a mini handled box. I am still figuring out the correct way that the Cricut measures. They were kind of tiny for the purpose that I had cut them, so they serve well as samples. There is also a small incentive set that can only be found through your CTMH consultant.

Now, don't judge me. The colours seemed to match so much better on the computer screen and in the lighting I was using. In proper light, not as much as I thought! I need to find out how to use the colour thing-y to match the colours-anyone know?

I want to thank Tresa Black of Fabulously Artsy for her fab tips on clearer art photos! I am already achieving one of my goals for my blog. I used Picnick, which brightened this up nicely with the overcast day.

This little girl is soooo cute, that I had to use her again from MTME So Fortunate digi set. My mom is so smitten with her, that she has claimed the cards that i have made using her.

Brown Eyes

The challenge that the LIMettes have for us this week is to create using your eye colour.

I saw all the shades of blues, greens, greys and thought "how lovely". Brown seemed so bland. I used generation stumping. It is stamping the image without re- inking. I really like the effect it had!

This is one of the few cards that I have made that can be suited for a masculine birthday. I am happy with the result.

I used CTMH chocolate ink and buttons from the neutral collection (they are also shades of brown which is not obvious); and SU! stamps.

I love this CTMH paper collection. It is so muted and pretty. the Card Patterns sketch is my inspiration.

I am not sure what size this is based upon, I made mine 4x4. It could have been a bit larger.

I used all CTMH (except the sentiment and flag, which are L'il Inker): Bliss paper (retired), Bliss level 2 accents (the mesh flower and copper butterflies); chocolate and grey flannel inks; pearl from liquorice opaques. I am not sure of the colour of the flag CS. It is either parchment, or vanilla cream.

I used the MTME So Fortunate digi stamp set and digitally colored it. In love this set! Sooo pretty! I was going to add a sentiment , but with the beautiful swirl accenting this sweet lady, it just seemed like it would take away from her. I also used MTME digi paper from the Darling Dots collection.

I just had to make a couple more altered notebooks! One is for my new teaching partner, and the other is for us to communicate info about the class to each other if we are unable to chat....

This first one is made with the last of the retired CTMH Magnifique papers:

I used CTMH Bohemian alphabet for the lettering, along with the Token alphabet.

This second one is made using paper from the new CTMH Typeset papers:

The lettering is stamped with CTMH token alphabet with creme brûlée ink and juniper gathered ribbon.

I got this little matroyshka stamp set from My Cute Stamps a few weeks ago, but as much as I loved it, I just was not sure how I wanted to use it. Being half Ukrainian, these little dolls were a part of my childhood at my grandparent's. I think that it is really cool to see these all over the place right now as being "hip".

The vibrant colours (that are not showing as vibrant) are: pear, lagoon, gypsy and cranberry inks from CTMH.

Here is the beautiful My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette inspiration:

Here is my own take using these digital stamps from MTME: Round Up and So Fortunate. I used MTME Dainty Damask digi papers as well, isn't it gorgeous? It is not showing well, but the pearl swirls are grey.

I loaded GIMP into the Mac book and can once again layer the digital stamps. I love this beautiful spring-y cherry blossom branch. I know that it should be pink, and do not even know if flowers from a tree are ever yellow, but it is so pretty.

Hello!

I have been having a tough time getting into the swing of things with school. My children have adapted just fine, but I have been teaching full-time the past couple of weeks. When you have been teaching half time for 13 years, it is a tough go! I didn't seem to have much time outside of teaching and home and family.

Now, I hope to get my groove on once again as it looks like I will have a partner to teach with starting this week. Woohoo, for me!

Here is this week's My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette inspiration (27!):

I will admit, I softened the colours a bit so I could use some papers I had on hand: MTME Wildflowers digi papers. There is just a hint of the yellow in a couple of the papers I used today. I used the acrylic version of MTME Keep Strong stamp set. A friend just had surgery, so this will be perfect for her!

I used a sketch from Card Patterns (133) this week as well.

A big thanks to Tracy from Tracy's Treasures for my blog award! She is such a sweetie and the more that I get to know her from her blog, the more similarities I see between us. I am enjoying the evolution of her HE-Art (I think that is correct?) journal, her sense of humour, her art-work (fabby mini albums!) and her scrap shopping treasures!

Q1) Name your favourite colour. RED!!!!!! I am constantly drawn to it. I think that it should be used as a neutral! Mylove is a green guy, so I guess that we are the ring and yang!

Q2) Name your favorite song?
Wow. Do I have a favourite? There are so many fabulous songs out there....I love "Life in a Northern town". Crank it up! I know that there must be some current songs out there that I like, but I am not very savvy on the titles or the names of the artists. (Being a teen of the 80's, many of my faces are from there!)

Q3) Name your favorite dessert?
It would be pretty tough to name one favourite, but let's just say that if it has chocolate, nuts and caramel-I am in heaven!

Q4) What wizzes you off at the moment?
This term sounds very British to me! Tracy said mean people. I would have to agree with that; I am constantly stunned by how cruel some people can be (on purpose) and cannot wrap my head around that.

Q5) Your favorite pet?
I will say a dog, although we have a cat. We have Spook because she is supposed to be an "outdoor" cat and she mostly takes care of herself.

Q6) Black or White?
Can I say BOTH? Really, black is. I have so many clothes in black and it is always the first neutral in clothes that I am drawn to.

Q7) Your biggest fear?
I think it is one we all have: something happening to my children or hubby.

Q8) Best Feature?
I used to say my hair, but as the texture is changing with turning grey....my eyes?

Q9) Everyday attitude?
I have never thought about it, but I suppose that over the years it has evolved into "Things happen for a reason; it will work out in the end".

Q10) What is perfection?
The smell of a summer morning; my family laughing together; sun.

Q11) Guilty Pleasure?
Shopping

Q12) When you're upset you?
Clam up; vent in a journal (if I am upset with Mylove). (and apparently stamp my foot, according to Mylove!)

Oh my, these colours spoke of water to me, don't you think? Beautiful choice for MTME Pretty Palette challenge 25!

I created this with my children's swim teacher in mind. She has been so great. I used O'Mazing Oyster MTME single digi stamp and one of the papers from the MTME Sweet and Sour Nomads Teal Leaf digi paper along with pearls and bling to sparkle it up! I used an MTME So Sentimental acrylic stamp. Of course I also had to use silver pearl embossing powder on the pearl as well. * smile *

Hi there, I want to show you a couple more little sticky pads for staff at my school, and for some of my children's teachers...

These two stamps are from a retired CTMH stamp set called "School Rules".

I love this sweet owl set that I bought a few years ago. I had completely forgotten about them. isn't it sweet? I used a bit of a scrap of paper from MTME, and paper from Holly Brooke Jones. A couple of CTMH jewels for the eyes.

Summer Watermelon

Hello!

It is time for My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette challenge number 24!

The first thing that I thought of with this colour combo was watermelon (maybe the name melon in the colour had something to do with that thought!) ; and what goes with watermelon? A picnic.

(Edited to add: oops! Somehow I missed adding the picture of my card! Big Thanks to DT member Lisa Kind for letting me know! *smiles*)

For the watermelon rind, I used one of the half circles from MTME Round Up digi stamps and printed it on green paper. The sentiment I printed on orange paper from the MTME Timed Write digi stamp set.

An Apple for the Teacher

Welcome to My Time Made Easy Pretty Palette Challenge 23! I LOVE this colour combo, 3 of my favourite colours!

LOVE this line of digital papers, the colours are so brilliant! I used them for my teacher cards in June as well. MTME has a few lines of fun school-themed digi papers and I used some from 2 collections: Academic Hodge Podge (released this month!) and Alphabet Soup 2 collection. I also use the adorable An Apple a Day pattern in pdf format. I do not have a digitized cutter. It was super easy to cut out. I used a used pencil (so it was short enough) for the apple stem. I also used digital stamps from this month's release Back to School. I added glitter to the apple.

I must admit, that I am pretty pleased with the final result!

Back to school

Paper Pretties challenge is a back to school project. I have not gone so far as to create school cards yet (other than the ones for my kindergarten students), I did get started on some cute covered sticky notes.

Sadly, Reader is off to the HS this year. I will miss making gifts for her teachers. However, I do have a friend or 2 teaching there, and should she have them for a teacher, they will get a little something' from me!

On Sunday, I have another cute school project to show you for My Time Made Easy Pretty palette challenge!

I won the cutest digital from My Cute Stamps. I printed off the papers (the fourth grade one is mixed school images, and the 7th grade one is paper airplanes. I cut out some of the apples that I had resized for accents). I also used alphabet soup digi paper from MTME. I had some scraps left from my DT project you will see on Sunday.

LIM week 28 one layer with ink

LIM really makes me have to stretch; as much as I love the multi-layered sweet shabby look, I do not do a very good job of re-creating them. CAS is fast becoming my best style for creation.

This week was using ink, including ink pads. I used ink a bit differently this week; a technique I have wanted to try. It gives it a slightly faded look.

I used spritzes I made with the CTMH ink pen. I do not know if the soft shimmer will show much in the picture, but there is a nice, pearly shimmer to the doily stamps.

I had to add the peals as the centre of the dollies looked simply naked and not quite finished to me. It is still minimal embellishment, right?

Oops, I almost forgot to say what technique I used! I spritzed the colour right onto the stamp to ink it, then blotted the excess ink off before stamping. The sentiment I stamped as usual.
